March 2017

We are looking forward to the 38th Annual Good Friday Walk. Last year’s walk brought over 300 walkers together on Good Friday to raise funds which were distributed throughout the year to 197 North Shore families. Last year’s outgoing donations to those in need totaled $55,278! Requests for help with rent, utility bills and general assistance arrive every week.

Ninety-five percent of all donations in 2016 were distributed on the North Shore. Five percent of our budget was used for other expenses, which were limited to printing, postage, website and organization fees. The Good Friday Walk is organized by a 100% volunteer workforce.

A sincere Thank You to last year’s walkers & volunteers

Let’s do it again on Friday, April 14, 2017! The 10.5 mile walk follows the same route as last year. There will be signs along the route and crossing guards to help with directions. We will start at The Saints Academy (formerly St. John’s School) at Rear 552 Cabot Street in North Beverly and proceed to our first stop at the Church in the Cove then continue on to St. John’s Episcopal Church in Beverly Farms. Walkers will follow the same route back to The Saints Academy. We welcome our senior walkers to walk from The Saints Academy to the Church in the Cove where we can provide transportation back to The Saints Academy. This service needs to be arranged by calling Alan at (978) 927-5847 before Good Friday. Lunch for all walkers will be served in St. John’s Episcopal’s cafeteria.

Sponsor sheets can be downloaded on the “Walk Info” page at www.goodfridaywalk.org. Remember to ask for donations to the Walk, not pledges per mile. The needy are counting on you. One person can make a difference. To all of our non-walkers, we can always use help during the Walk or send a donation to Good Friday Walk, P.O. 646, Beverly, MA 01915. Donations can also be made online at www.goodfridaywalk.org.

 HELPFUL NOTES:

  • You must be sponsored to walk - $25.00 MINIMUM.
